Branching into Communities
As a modern mutual, we’re passionate about working for the benefit of our members, colleagues and communities.
Thanks to our members investing in the Society, we can support local community projects through our Branching into Communities programme with our funding and volunteering initiatives.

Charitable Foundation

The Monmouthshire Building Society Charitable Foundation supports community projects and initiatives with funding.

For more information about the Foundation, including details of how to apply for funding, please visit the Charitable Foundation page.

Our Charity Partnership

The Society has committed to a Charity Partnership with Shelter Cymru for the next 5 years, colleague volunteering and by developing strategic support to help prevent the many people using its services from entering a housing crisis.

Our colleagues and members continue to fundraise and give one-off donations, while the Society donates 20p for every vote cast by Members at the AGM.

For the latest information on fundraising and donations, visit our Just Giving page. You can also donate or set up your own fundraising event. Don’t forget to leave a message and select Gift Aid if you are a UK Tax-payer.

Our Branch Sponsorship Fund

Our Branch Sponsorship Fund gives financial support to grassroots community groups, projects and programmes that benefit the communities in which we serve.

We are happy to support organisations and groups who are active in our communities where there is a focus on wellbeing, inclusion and diversity, or sustainable environments.

Our Colleague in the Community Initiative

We’re encouraging and supporting our colleagues, at every level, to volunteer their time to the community groups and charities that matter to them through our Colleague in the Community initiative.

By sharing our skills, time, and knowledge with others we hope to benefit our communities and increase our collective sense of wellbeing.

If you know of a charity or community group that would benefit from our Colleague in the Community initiative, please email community@monbs.com for more information.
