Monmouthshire Building Society today announced that Andrew Lewis, the Society’s Managing Director, has decided to retire in twelve months’ time. Andrew’s decision to retire will bring to a close a career of over 25 years of continuous service to the Society.

“Andrew has made a significant contribution throughout his career at the Monmouthshire. He has been instrumental in guiding the Society through its exceptional growth and performance including achievement of £1 billion of assets last year,” said Haydn Warman, the Society’s Chairman. “The Board is grateful for the valuable contribution and undoubted commitment he has given to the Society’s continuing success over the past 25 years.”

“I am very proud of what we have achieved” Andrew said. “In 2005 our assets were £448 million – today they stand at over £1 billion. Despite the exceptional financial climate in recent years we have maintained a positive focus on delivering attractive products and first class service to our members. I am confident that the Monmouthshire will continue to grow as a strong and successful building society.”

The Board has begun a search process to identify an executive with the right experience and capabilities to lead the Society as a strong and independent regional building society.
