Red Nose Day 2015

The Society is delighted to have raised £781 for Comic Relief, the inspiring charity which aims for a just world, free from poverty.

The Society is a long-term supporter of Comic Relief and our dedicated staff members raised the bar this year with a whole host of activities which were held on 13th March – from raffles and home-made-cake selling to wearing Disney Princess costumes at our Newport City Centre Branch.

Since its launch in 1988, Red Nose Day has become a British institution. It’s the day, every two years, when people across the UK get together and do something funny for money at home, school and work. Comic Relief spends the money raised by Red Nose Day to help people living tough lives across the UK and Africa.

Chief Executive, Andrew Lewis, commented: “The Society has marked Red Nose Day for quite some time now and we are enormously proud to have collected such a substantial amount this year. Comic Relief is an inspiring charity that we’re always keen to get behind, and we’re extremely grateful to our customers who donated and got in on the fundraising action throughout the day.”
