Lisvane Panthers Under 7’s football team have received sponsorship from the Society, which has allowed them to purchase team jackets, which helps protect them from bad weather when playing outdoors.

The Under 7’s team are part of the Lisvane Panther’s Junior Football Club which is based in North Cardiff, and is currently one of the largest junior football clubs in Wales. The club has many teams from the Under 7’s right up to the Under 16’s, plus an Under 14’s Girls team.

Established in August 2012, the Under 7’s team train every other Saturday at Talybont Sports Centre in Cardiff, and play matches on the other Saturdays at The Marl in Grangetown, Cardiff. The Under 7’s league is ‘non-competitive’ so the children are allowed to develop their love of football without the pressure of winning or losing.

Anthony Morris, Head Coach for the team commented “We are extremely grateful to Monmouthshire Building Society for their support of the team. As the Under 7’s team has only been going a few months, it’s great to be able to recieve the financial support of well-known Welsh businesses to help properly equip the boys, especially for the unsettled weather experienced in the autumn and winter months”.

Andrew Lewis, Chief Executive of Monmouthshire Building Society commented “As a regional building society, we believe it’s important to show our support to the local communities we serve. As the Society continues to build its profile across Cardiff, we are proud to be able to provide sponsorship to worthwhile community organisations in that area, such as the Lisvane Panthers under 7’s football team. Although their league is non-competitive, we wish them every success with the current season and beyond”.
