Protect your Personal and Financial Information from Scams

28 July 2015

At Monmouthshire Building Society, we take our customers’ personal and financial security extremely seriously, and while the internet is a valuable, efficient platform for internet banking, it’s essential that you protect your personal and financial information to make sure that it doesn't fall into the wrong hands.

We are aware of spoof emails that appear to come from Monmouthshire Building Society, and ask our customers to be extremely vigilant if they feel they have received a suspicious email claiming to be from the Society.

Be wary of unsolicited emails, even when they look like they have come from a trusted source. We will never ask you to disclose personal or payment information by email. If you have any doubts that an email claiming to be from the Society is not genuine then do not follow any links or reply to it – please contact the Society by another means.

Monmouthshire Building Society will NEVER:

  • Ask you to send personal or banking information via email or text
  • Send an email with a link to a page which asks you to enter your online banking log-in details
The Society has put together a valuable web page which provides more information on how to protect your personal and financial information online which you can view here.
