Society Appoints New Vice Chairman

HaydnHaydn Warman, a former building society executive, has been appointed Vice Chairman of Monmouthshire Building Society.

Mr Warman, who joined the Board of Directors as a non executive director in 2010, has 27 years experience of the building society sector.

Cardiff born Mr Warman graduated from Aberystwyth University with an LLB Honours degree. He qualified as a solicitor and became a partner in a private practice before joining the Legal Division of the Welsh Office.

He subsequently became a Senior Executive with Principality Building Society, being appointed Society Secretary and later a director of the Society until retiring from executive office. During that period he was also a member of the Building Societies Association Legal Panel.

Commenting on his appointment, Haydn Warman said, “Since joining the Society’s Board of Directors two years ago, I have been deeply impressed by the Society’s continued growth, despite the difficult market conditions that continues to present major challenges for the sector. The leadership and expertise demonstrated by the Board as a whole has been enormously beneficial to the Society and its continuing success”.

Mr Warman continued, “As Vice Chairman, I will continue to put the interests of our members at the forefront of all our business activity. As a mutual organisation, it is vital we continue to deliver both competitive products and a first rate service to our customers, whilst maintaining prudent management to allow the Society to continue to flourish.”

Monmouthshire Building Society Chairman, Robert Williams, welcomed the new appointment, commenting that “We are delighted to appoint Haydn as Vice Chairman. With his extensive legal background, allied to his comprehensive understanding and experience of the building society sector, we are confident that his ongoing contribution will continue to strengthen the Society’s strategic position.”
