The Society is proud to have launched its long-awaited Twitter account which will provide customers and non-customers alike with topical news, details of the Society’s competitive savings and mortgage range and interesting community updates.

Twitter is an online social networking service that enables users to send and read short 140-character messages called "tweets". Often referred to as a ‘microblogging site, Twitter allows registered users to read and post tweets, while unregistered users can only read them.

Commenting on the launch of the Society’s Twitter account, Chief Executive Andrew Lewis said: “Consumer behaviour is changing, with increasingly more interaction taking place online, whether on computers, tablets or, increasingly, on mobile phones. As a mutual organisation, we are keen to maintain our position as a friendly, approachable provider of mortgage and savings products, and our Twitter account offers an ideal platform to connect with our customers in an exciting, modern way which suits their changing needs.”

He continued: “By expanding our social media presence to Twitter, following the launch of our Facebook page earlier in the year, the Society will be able to more directly engage with the public and provide topical information, news about our competitive range of products and services, our latest achievements, our ongoing fundraising activities within the local community and much much more.”
