Society Help Newport Scouts & Guides

The Society has once again pledged its support to the Newport Scout and Guide units for their Christmas greeting card delivery service.

The annual delivery service has become a much-loved feature of Newport’s festive calendar, whereby Scouts and Guides collect and deliver Christmas cards in Newport and the surrounding areas, from Risca to Undy. The scheme is currently in its twenty third year, and the Society are proud to have provided support since the very start.

There are numerous collection points across the Newport and district areas, and with stamps priced at only twenty pence, they’re a fraction of the cost of Royal Mail. Please note, however, that stamps cannot be purchased at any of the Monmouthshire Building Society branches.

Roger Swabey, Post Administrator for Scouts Wales commented, “We are extremely grateful to Monmouthshire Building Society for their continued support of the Christmas post service, and the positive effect this has for our Scouts, Guides and the wider community who benefit from this fantastic low-cost service.”

Andrew Lewis, Chief Executive of Monmouthshire Building Society commented, “As a regional Building Society, we believe it’s important to show our support to the local communities we serve. We are proud to continue as a main sponsor for the Scout and Guide movements’ Christmas card delivery across Newport and wish them every success in this much loved, community-focused scheme.”
