Society Staff Member Takes to the Sky

Sky Dive Fundraising

A brave member of staff from the Society took to the sky for a skydive during the early May bank holiday weekend to help raise funds for Cancer Research Wales.

Karly-anne Moulton, who works in the Society’s Banking Hall at our Newport Branch, decided to undertake the skydive with the hope of raising over £500 for the Welsh cancer charity following her father’s brave fight against the disease after a recent diagnosis of prostate cancer.

Cancer Research Wales’ aim is to reduce the impact of cancer on the people of Wales, through supporting world class cancer research and education. Their priority is to fund research that will give hope to those affected by cancer, and their families. They are proud to guarantee that all money raised is spent in Wales.

Karly said: “I’m really proud of myself for taking on the challenge of a skydive. Although this was my second experience, I definitely felt more nervous this time around, but this time held much more significance.”

She continued: “I’m honoured to have been able to raise funds for Cancer Research Wales who are only able to carry out their important work thanks to donations and legacies and I’m overwhelmed by the generous donations I’ve received.”
