Monmouthshire Building Society has strengthened its high-street presence in Swansea with the opening of its new high-profile city centre branch.

Situated at 18 Union Street, the new branch is centrally located within Swansea city centre and demonstrates the Society’s commitment to maintaining and servicing its customer base in the South West Wales region.

The new branch offers enhanced customer facilities such as improved access, a suite of private interview rooms, extended opening hours and an increased number of till positions. A full mortgage advisory service is also now available.

The same helpful staff team are on hand to assist customers and assure a friendly and professional service at all times. The Society continues to offer a competitive range of mortgage, savings and insurance products, coupled with a personal approach to customer service.

Mr Andrew Lewis, Chief Executive of Monmouthshire Building Society, said, “The opening of our new Swansea branch is part of our ongoing long-term commitment to improving our branch network across South Wales. In this new and more accessible central location, we are proud that we can offer a more satisfying customer experience to both new and existing customers in the Swansea area.”

The new branch will also serve as the Swansea base for the Society’s subsidiary company, Monmouthshire Independent Financial Advisers Ltd (MIFA). Established in 1997, MIFA provide independent financial advice to customers, specialising in such areas as investments, pensions and financial protection.

Operating from the new branch will allow them to expand their services further across the South West Wales area. “Monmouthshire Independent Financial Advisers continues to achieve record levels of business. Using the Society’s new Swansea branch as a regional base allows the company to extend its services further afield, with the potential to experience further growth in the years ahead” commented Richard Hill, Managing Director of Monmouthshire Independent Financial Advisers.

Now in its 140th year of business, the Society, who last year announced record growth for both mortgage lending and inflow of members’ funds, continues to thrive. The Society is committed to making improvements to its branch network, of which the new Swansea branch is the latest. In 2008, the Society’s flagship branch in Newport City Centre was re-located, and the first ever dedicated branch was opened in Cardiff.
