Monmouthshire Building Society has strengthened its high-street presence by unveiling their new flagship branch within their Head Office in the heart of Newport City Centre.

As part of its long-term growth plans, the Society decided to invest heavily in its future by re-locating its branch to the corner of John Frost Square and Llanarth Street (close to Newport Library & Museum). The new branch will be situated in the heart of the new city centre retail development once completed.

The new branch features enhanced customer facilities including a suite of private interview rooms, digital television screens promoting the Society’s services and products, and full disabled access including automatic doors and a lift.

Despite the physical facelift, the same helpful staff team are on hand to assist customers and the Society continues to offer a competitive range of mortgage, savings and insurance products, coupled with a personal approach to customer service. The opening of the new Head Office branch enforces the Society’s commitment to providing its customers with the best service possible.

The opening of the new Head Office branch is the cornerstone of the Society’s plans for expansion and long-term investment into its future. The Swansea branch is also currently being re-located to a prime location within the city’s retail sector. Work is underway and it is anticipated the more centrally located branch will open in early 2009.

The Society also recently expanded into Cardiff with the acquisition of Ben Smith Insurance Services. The Birchgrove based-branch is the Society’s first ever dedicated branch in the Welsh capital.

Mr Andrew Lewis, Chief Executive of Monmouthshire Building Society, said,“A key element of the Society’s growth strategy is to both increase and enhance our high street presence throughout South Wales. When the re-development of Newport City Centre is completed, the Society will be better positioned within the new retail centre, and our improved facilities will make for a more satisfying customer experience.”
