Lasting Legacies Donation Noah's Ark

Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity has received a donation of over £7,000 from the Society in order to fund the purchase of essential medical equipment.

Late last year, the Society achieved one billion pounds in assets and, to mark this momentous occasion, decided to give back to the wider local community through some unique and exciting funding projects to create lasting legacies for its members and the local communities in which it operates.

The donation of £7,060 has already been used to purchase a paediatric defibrillator; a life-saving piece of equipment that is used to re-start cardiac arrhythmia which has been specifically designed for children, along with a pull down bed for a parent to spend the night next to their child.

Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity is the only charity exclusively fundraising for the Children’s Hospital for Wales. Since their launch in 2000, they have raised millions of pounds to help establish Phase One of the very first Children’s Hospital for Wales which treats children needing medical and cancer care.

They have also provided funds to enable the first Teenage Cancer Trust unit to be built and given hundreds of thousands of pounds to provide equipment and are busy working to equip Phase Two of the Children’s Hospital for Wales to ensure the country has the world class children’s hospital it deserves.

Linda Davies, Noah’s Ark Senior Fundraising Officer, said: “We’re overwhelmed by the generous donation from Monmouthshire Building Society as part of their Billion Pounds Asset Celebrations. Without help from individuals and businesses in Wales, we wouldn’t be able to carry out our essential, life-changing work and it’s especially pleasing to see this funding go directly towards the care and treatment of our patients.”

Richard Miles, Monmouthshire Building Society General Manager, commented: “The achievement of a billion pounds of assets comes as a direct result of the support of our local communities, and we’re thrilled to be giving back to them through funding vital equipment which will benefit the lives of countless children and their families. The Children’s Hospital provides care and support for children from the length and breadth of Wales and it’s especially satisfying to see the donation being put directly to use on life-saving equipment.”
