Taff Trail Fundraising

A dedicated member of Monmouthshire Insurance Services, part of the Monmouthshire Building Society group, will be donning her cycling helmet and taking part in the Taff Trail Bike Ride for charity on Saturday 27th September.

Joanne Adams, Monmouthshire Insurance Services Account Handler, chose to take part in the Taff Trail Bike Ride in order to raise vital funds for St David’s Hospice Care, the Newport-based palliative care charity.

The Taff Trail is considered to be one of the most scenic cycling challenges that Wales has to offer, and follows the historic Taff Trail from Brecon all the way to Cardiff. The 52 mile (84km) route takes in some of the most picturesque views of the Welsh valleys, along former railway lines, canal paths, tram roads, reservoirs and viaducts until participants reach the finishing line at Sofia Gardens.

Joanne said: “I’m so excited to be able to take part in the Taff Trail, since it combines my passion for the outdoors with fundraising for a very worthwhile cause. The route itself is surrounded by such beautiful scenery that, despite the daunting task ahead and the training involved, I’m sure it’ll be a day to remember.”

Joanne continued: “I chose to raise money for St. David's Hospice Care since they provide free community-based hospice care to people with cancer or any other life threatening illness living in Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport, Torfaen and South and Mid Powys. All money raised will directly impact people at such a difficult time in their lives, and I aim to keep this in mind when the going gets tough on the day.”
