Lydney Agency Now Open

12 September 2005

Monmouthshire extends into Gloucestershire

Monmouthshire Building Society is delighted to announce the opening of a new agency office in Lydney, Gloucestershire, in association with Malcolm J. White Estate Agents, based in Newerne Street.

Andrew Lewis, Chief Executive said, “Whilst some are closing branch offices, we are bucking the trend in the financial services sector by opening new outlets. We are excited to be moving into England for the first time. With an established customer base in the area we know there is demand for our products, and hope to make a big impact in Lydney. Investing in the communities in which we operate is at the core of our business philosophy.”

Malcolm White, local Estate Agent & Independent Financial Adviser added, “We have chosen to partner Monmouthshire Building Society as they offer great customer service and highly competitive savings and investment products – something I know is important to the residents of Lydney and beyond. Last year, for the second year running, they scooped the top prize in the UK for one of their tax-free savings accounts, which demonstrates to me their long-term commitment to members in providing competitive savings products”.

Andrew Lewis believes that their range of value-for-money investment products coupled with a highly competitive mortgage portfolio, will enable the Monmouthshire to continue to grow successfully. “Our primary advantage over our competitors stems from our lower running costs. The benefit of not having to pay dividends to plc shareholders is substantial and without this cost, the Monmouthshire Building Society is able to offer consistently better rates to its members for both savings and mortgages. As a true Building Society we are able to offer more competitive products than plc banks and, we now wish to share these benefits by expanding our high street presence into Gloucestershire.”

The agency, located inside Malcolm J. White Estate Agents is open six days a week, 9.00am - 4.45pm weekdays, and 9.00pm to 12.00 noon on Saturdays. You can contact them on (01594) 846242 or call in at 69 Newerne Street, Lydney.
