MBS has achieved a Careers Wales School Valued Partner at Corpus Christi Catholic High School
MBS has achieved a Careers Wales (Careers Wales | Careers Wales (gov.wales) School Valued Partner at Corpus Christi Catholic High School, Cardiff due to the amount of volunteering opportunities it has supported at the school. The School Valued Partner programme recognises employers and schools who work together for the benefit of pupils.
The Society was approached to join the programme in late 2023. Seeing the opportunity to give back through knowledge and experience of colleagues across the society. The initiative has involved colleagues going into a range of local schools, in and around our heartlands, supporting high school children as they prepare to leave school and either enter work or go on to college or other further education training.
Colleagues supported by conducting mock interviews, giving presentations on interview techniques and helping understand what sort of roles exist in the financial services industry. Coming from different areas of the business; including Lending Operations, Business Change and Strategy, Products, Branches and Savings and Customer Contact Teams, colleagues were able to share different perspectives of working at MBS along with their own employment journeys.

The opportunity to help shape and support the young people involved was truly rewarding. It is crucial to cultivate a positive relationship within the workplace, and these volunteering sessions are an essential part of that.
“I am excited to continue supporting the community through volunteering days, and I have already signed up for future opportunities at the same school along with others in the area!”
We are looking forward to developing our partnership with Corpus Christi High School and building new partnerships with other schools in our community and will continue to share our experiences here and on our social media channels.
