Mortgage - Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I make over payments on my mortgage?

A:You can make overpayments on your mortgage at any time, but you need to check the conditions of your mortgage as some of our mortgages have a charge for doing so. Information about such charges will be clearly shown on your Mortgage Sales Key Facts Illustration or your Mortgage Offer Key Facts Illustration.

Q:How do I amend the term of my mortgage?

A: Please contact us with your request, clearly stating the term you would like us to consider. If we are in agreement to your proposed changes we will forward a form for your completion.

Q: Can I rent my house / flat?

A: We will consider any request by you to rent out your property but this will be subject to your satisfying our terms and conditions. Please click here for further details on letting your property.

Q: I have an interest only mortgage but I don't have a plan to repay it. What can I do?

A: We would urge you to act now - a delay may make it more difficult to come to a suitable arrangement. We may be able to help you with some of your options and you can contact us on 01633 844 371 or read our section entitled ‘Managing your interest only mortgage’. The related Money Advice Service Leaflet also provides more information on what you can do.
