Over £270 raised for World Homeless Day

Colleagues and members from Monmouthshire Building Society have raised over £270 for Shelter Cymru as part of World Homeless Day.

Last week, colleagues from across the Society went all out for World Homeless Day to raise funds and awareness for our strategic charity partner, Shelter Cymru.

Branches got creative with their fundraising efforts, decorating their front of house and using their Shelter collection boxes to collect loose change.

Our Caerleon Road branch held a competition to guess the name of the teddy bear with member Eileen correctly guessing 'Charlie'.

In head office colleagues were asked to donate the cost of a ‘posh’ coffee and cake to Shelter, instead of heading out for a cuppa.

World Homeless Day is an annual event that raises awareness of homelessness in our local communities through volunteering, education and encouraging donations to the organisations that support people on the verge of, or living in homelessness.

Thanks to the continued support of our colleagues and members we can continue to support Shelter Cymru and help the thousands of people each year across Wales who are affected by the housing emergency.
