Society Staff Help Blaze a Trail for Charity

17 October 2012

Charity rideA team of 6 Monmouthshire Building Society staff members took to the road for the 50 mile Taff Trail bike ride from Brecon to Cardiff on Saturday 6th October, in aid of the St David’s Foundation. The team have so far managed to raise over £1,000 for the charity.

The St David’s Foundation is a Gwent based organisation providing a palliative care service for people, their families and carers facing a life threatening illness which is unfortunately no longer curable. The service is invaluable, but heavily reliant on financial support from fundraising events such as the Taff Trail Bike Ride.

Alan Roderick, Head of Marketing and E-commerce at Monmouthshire Building Society said “Myself and the rest of the team trained hard to make sure we were all prepared for the charity bike ride. Although there was some blood, a lot of sweat and thankfully very few tears along the way, it was all worth it to help raise funds for a very worthy cause, and we urge as many people as possible to help support us by making a donation”.

If you would like to make a donation, either:

  • Call into any local branch or agency of the Monmouthshire Building Society and pay your donation into account number 0801-00158-3 (please advise the cashier that your donation is in support of the St David’s Foundation Bike Ride).
  • Alternatively visit and follow the onscreen instructions to donate online
