6 February 2015

New Branch Manager

The Society is pleased to announce the appointment of Victoria Newsway as Newport City Centre Branch Manager, taking over from Clare Brown, who has been promoted to the role of Regional Team Manager.

Victoria has ten years’ experience in the financial services industry, having started her career with the Principality Building Society in a cashier role before gaining the role of Assistant Manager 16 months later.

Victoria joined Monmouthshire Building Society in 2009, as Manager of our Handpost branch in Newport before moving on to the same role in the Society’s Risca Branch in 2011 and Caerleon Road branch in 2013.

Before gaining the role of Newport City Centre Manager, Victoria was Branch Supervisor at the Society’s flagship Newport Branch and, upon Clare Brown’s appointment as Regional Team Manager, Victoria decided to put herself forward for Clare’s Manager position in January 2015.

Victoria said: ‘I’m very excited to step into the position of Branch Manager following Clare’s appointment as Regional Team Manager. The rigorous selection and interview process was certainly challenging, and I’m grateful for the fantastic leadership shown by Clare and all the skills I’ve developed in my previous roles with the Society.”

She continued: “I’m looking forward to taking on new challenges and to continue to work with such a friendly, supportive team. I am focused in my goal to embrace the Society’s mutual ethos, and our focus on outstanding customer service, welcoming both existing and new customers in the Newport area and beyond to come in and find out about the extensive range of mortgage and savings products available.”

Clare Brown, Regional Team Manager, commented: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time working as Newport City Centre Branch Manager, and I will certainly miss working so closely with our fantastic customer base and the Banking Hall team. I’m confident that I can now give my new role the focus it requires, and Victoria’s application and experience proved to be the winning formula when it came to finding my successor. I’d like to wish her every success in this highly rewarding position.”
